Richard S. Herdener, MD Dr. Herdener was raised in Vancouver, Washington, and educated at Seattle University and the University Of Washington School Of Medicine. He trained in dermatology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, then moved to Spokane in 1987 after serving ten years in the U.S. Navy. The Inland Empire has become his home, and he loves it here.
Caring for patients presenting with a broad range of skin problems, is Dr. Herdener's passion. He has a keen interest in treating psoriasis, occupational dermatitis, acne, and all types of eczema. Dr. Herdener offers extensive skills in cosmetic dermatology as well.
Dr. Herdener and his wife, Anita, have been married since 1970. Together, they have a zeal for golf, tennis, and gardening.
Katherine Bruya Reed, MD Dr. Reed is a native of Spokane and received her bachelor's degree from Boston College, graduated from medical school with honors at the University of Washington, and completed her dermatology residency training at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.
Dr. Reed treats a wide variety of general dermatology conditions including psoriasis, acne, and eczema. Dr. Reed spent an entire year at Duke University devoted to clinical research on hair disorders and also trained with two respected pediatric dermatologists. Her particular interests include caring for pediatric patients and for patients with all types of hair loss. Dr. Reed performs skin cancer surgeries, skin cancer screenings, and cosmetic procedures including Botox and lasers.
She returns to Spokane with her husband and two young sons. They enjoy all of the outdoor activities the Pacific Northwest offers, including camping, hiking, skiing and spending time with family and friends.
Christina Marino, MD Dr. Marino graduated from California State University, Fullerton and received her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. She completed her dermatology training at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, which included a one year National Institute of Health research fellowship in dermatology. She practiced more than six years in clinical dermatology in Lexington, Kentucky.
In 1992, she moved to Washington, DC and completed a four year research fellowship with the National Cancer Institute in the field of cancer prevention and control. She earned a Master's in Public Health degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Before moving to Spokane in 2003, Dr. Marino worked as an epidemiologist for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries in occupational dermatology research.
Dr. Marino is board certified with the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She enjoys working with all age groups and is especially interested in contact dermatitis and occupational dermatology.
Dr. Marino loves to cook. While living in Washington, DC, she completed professional training in the culinary arts and pastry at the L'Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, Maryland, and co-wrote a cookbook entitled The Cancer Survival Cookbook. Her hobbies are making greeting cards and gardening. She became a certified Master Gardener while living in Seattle. Dr. Marino has been married to her husband, Phillip, since 1977.
Trent Lengl, MPAS, PA-C Trent was raised in Ohio and received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Science and Physician Assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He served in both the United States Marine Corps and Air Force and was commissioned as a medical officer in 1992. While in the military, he practiced medicine in Washington, DC, New Mexico, Ohio, Croatia and Idaho. After retiring from the Air Force in 2000, Trent practiced at the Boise VA Hospital prior to joining Dr. Herdener in 2002.
Trent is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Washington State Medical Association, Spokane County Medical Society, and the Pacific Northwest Dermatology Society.
Trent is full of energy and enjoys seeing all types of general dermatologic conditions. He has a special interest in adult and adolescent acne, psoriasis, eczema, and all types of skin growths/ cancer.
Outside of the office, Trent and his family enjoy spending time outdoors and take full advantage of what Spokane and the surrounding areas have to offer.
Eric Dudenhofer, ARNP Eric was born and raised in the Midwest and relocated to Spokane to attend college. Dual enrollment through Washington State University and Whitworth University lead to his undergraduate nursing degree (BSN 1996) and his graduate Nurse Practitioner degree (MSN 1999). Eric has extensive experience working as a provider in the Spokane area medical offices and emergency rooms. He is known for superior service and exceedingly competent, compassionate care for his patients. Eric is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Eric and his wife, Kaery, have been married since 1994 and have four young children.
Lisa Paurus, Clinical Esthetician Lisa has lived in the Coeur d’Alene area for the majority of her life. She has extensive dermatology experience and works in all phases of medical esthetics. Not only does Lisa bring her medical expertise to our patients and staff, but also a strong background in education and customer service skills that place patient care at the forefront in the treatment room. Her passion for acne and sensitive skin care has led her to become a consummate trouble shooter and a leader in customizing her patients’ skin care regimens. Lisa holds certifications in laser therapies, permanent make-up, chemical peels and pharmaceutical skin care products, and is in constant pursuit of continuing education in order to give the best treatment and care to her patients.
Lisa is the very proud and busy mom/stepmom to eight children. When she and husband, Craig, aren’t busy with their brood and extended local family, they can be found following a sporting event (Go Zags! Go Shock!), hitting a concert, engaging in a rousing game of trivia or traveling.
